Zen Routine Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how the developer of the Zen Series applications (the “Developer”) handles information in connection with mobile applications published under the Zen Series brand that link to this Policy (collectively, the “Apps”).

By using an App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy.

TOC

1. Scope

This Policy applies to all Zen Series Apps that link to this Policy from their app store listing, in-app settings, or other official location.

The functions available in each App may differ. Accordingly, certain provisions of this Policy, including provisions relating to advertising, notifications, backups, or in-app purchases, apply only where the relevant App provides or uses those functions.

When users access an external website, application store, cloud service, or other third-party service through an App, the privacy policy and terms established by that third party apply to that service.

2. Information Stored on the User’s Device

Depending on the functions of the relevant App, the App may store information locally on the user’s device, including:

  • Content entered or created by the user, such as titles, notes, URLs, dates, times, counter values, routine information, settings, status information, and similar app data.
  • Notification settings, scheduled notification information, and notification identifiers.
  • Language, display preferences, and other App settings.
  • Information used locally to determine whether premium features are available.
  • Backup or export data created by the user.

Such information is generally stored locally on the user’s device.

Unless expressly stated otherwise within a specific App, the Developer does not operate a server for storing or accessing the content that users enter or create within the Apps.

If the user enables iCloud, device backup, device migration, cloud storage, or another operating system or third-party backup service, locally stored data may be transferred to or stored by the applicable service provider.

Such processing is controlled by the user’s device settings and the policies of the applicable service provider.

3. User Accounts

Unless expressly stated otherwise within a specific App, the Apps do not use a user account system managed by the Developer.

Users are generally not required to register a name, postal address, telephone number, email address, password, or similar account information in order to use the Apps.

Because no Developer-managed account is created in such Apps, those Apps do not provide an account deletion function.

4. Information Processed by Third-Party Services

Depending on the App, platform, and functions used, third-party services may process certain information.

Apple App Store

For Apps distributed through the Apple App Store, Apple may process product identifiers, purchase history, transaction information, receipt information, device or account information, and other information required to provide App Store services.

This information may be used to process purchases, subscriptions, refunds, purchase restoration, and other App Store functions.

RevenueCat

Apps that provide in-app purchases or subscriptions may use RevenueCat.

RevenueCat may process information including product identifiers, purchase history, subscription status, transaction information, anonymous App User IDs, and technical App or device information.

This information may be used to validate purchases, determine premium entitlement status, manage subscriptions, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and provide related purchase functionality.

The Developer may access limited purchase-related information made available through RevenueCat when reasonably necessary to administer purchase functionality, investigate purchase-related issues, or comply with legal obligations.

Google AdMob

Some Apps may use Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display advertisements.

Depending on the device, region, consent status, and advertising settings, Google and its advertising partners may process information such as IP addresses, advertising identifiers, device information, ad impressions, ad interactions, approximate location information, diagnostics, and performance information.

Such information may be used for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention, security, and service improvement.

Operating System and Device Services

Apple, Google, device manufacturers, and operating system services may process technical information such as operating system version, device type, language settings, notification permission status, App version, crash information, or similar information as necessary to provide device and App functionality.

The Developer does not directly collect or store credit card numbers, bank account credentials, App Store passwords, or other payment credentials.

5. Purposes of Information Processing

Depending on the relevant App and the services it uses, information may be processed for purposes including:

  1. Providing and maintaining App functionality.
  2. Saving settings and user-created App data.
  3. Scheduling or managing notifications.
  4. Determining whether premium features are available.
  5. Processing, validating, and restoring purchases or subscriptions.
  6. Displaying advertisements where applicable.
  7. Measuring advertising performance and preventing advertising fraud.
  8. Detecting unauthorized purchases, abuse, or fraudulent activity.
  9. Investigating technical errors and improving App stability.
  10. Responding to inquiries voluntarily submitted by users.
  11. Complying with applicable laws, legal obligations, and lawful requests from public authorities.

The Developer does not use content entered or created locally by users within the Apps for advertising, marketing, profiling, or behavioral analysis.

6. Advertising

Some Apps may display advertisements using Google AdMob or other advertising services disclosed in the relevant App or an updated version of this Policy.

Advertising service providers may process advertising identifiers, IP addresses, device information, ad impression data, ad interaction data, approximate location information, diagnostic information, and similar technical information.

Depending on the user’s region, device settings, and consent status, personalized or non-personalized advertisements may be displayed.

Users may be able to restrict advertising identifiers, tracking permissions, or personalized advertising through their device, operating system, or applicable consent controls.

Where an App provides an option to remove advertisements through a premium purchase or subscription, advertisements are generally not displayed while that premium entitlement is active.

However, if an advertising SDK remains integrated into an App, limited technical processing may occur during SDK initialization or related operations even when advertisements are not displayed.

7. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Some Apps may offer one-time purchases, auto-renewable subscriptions, free trials, or other in-app purchase options.

Purchases are processed by the applicable app store.

Apps offering purchases may use RevenueCat to validate transactions, determine entitlement status, manage subscription status, and restore purchases.

Billing information, payment methods, refunds, renewals, cancellations, and purchase history are generally managed by the applicable app store in accordance with its terms and procedures.

The Developer does not directly receive users’ credit card numbers or other payment credentials.

8. Notifications

Some Apps may provide local or system notification functionality.

Where notification functionality is used, the App may store notification settings, scheduled times, notification identifiers, and related information on the user’s device.

Users can generally enable, disable, or modify notification permissions through the App or their device settings.

Notification delivery may depend on the operating system, device status, battery settings, network conditions, and other factors outside the Developer’s control.

9. Backup, Export, and Import Files

Some Apps may allow users to export or import App data as backup files.

Backup or export files may be stored on the user’s device, in a file management application, in cloud storage, or in another location selected by the user.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the Developer does not receive, store, or access backup files created by users.

Backup files may contain information entered or created by the user within the applicable App.

The storage, transfer, sharing, protection, and deletion of such files are controlled by the user and any third-party storage provider selected by the user.

10. Contact Form and User Inquiries

Users may contact the Developer through the following contact form:

Contact Form

When a user voluntarily submits an inquiry, the Developer may receive and process information entered into the form, such as contact information, App information, inquiry details, and any other information voluntarily provided by the user.

The contact form is provided using Google Forms. Information submitted through the form may therefore also be processed by Google in accordance with Google’s applicable policies.

Information submitted through the contact form will be used primarily to review and respond to the inquiry, investigate relevant issues, prevent abuse, maintain necessary records, or comply with legal obligations.

Users should not submit passwords, payment credentials, government identification numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information through the contact form.

11. Disclosure and Sale of Information

The Developer does not sell content entered or created locally by users within the Apps.

The Developer does not disclose information directly controlled by the Developer to third parties except where:

  1. The user has provided consent.
  2. Disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law.
  3. Disclosure is necessary to protect the life, health, safety, property, or legal rights of a person.
  4. The Developer receives a lawful request from a court, government authority, or other public institution.
  5. Processing is entrusted to a service provider to the extent reasonably necessary to operate or maintain the Apps.
  6. The Apps, the Zen Series brand, or a related business is transferred, assigned, merged, reorganized, or otherwise succeeded by another party.
  7. Disclosure is otherwise reasonably necessary and permitted by applicable law.

Information processed independently by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Google AdMob, Google Forms, cloud storage providers, or other third-party services is handled in accordance with the applicable provider’s policies.

12. Data Retention and Deletion

Information stored only on the user’s device is generally retained until the user deletes it, deletes the relevant App data, uninstalls the App, resets the device, or otherwise removes the information.

Backup or export files are retained in the location selected by the user until deleted by the user or the applicable storage provider.

Purchase and subscription information may be retained by Apple, RevenueCat, or other applicable service providers in accordance with their respective policies and legal obligations.

Advertising-related information may be retained by Google or other advertising service providers in accordance with their respective policies.

Information voluntarily submitted through the contact form may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the inquiry, maintain appropriate records, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.

Users may request deletion of information directly held by the Developer by submitting a request through the Contact Form above. The Developer will process valid deletion requests to the extent required by applicable law and technically possible.

The Developer cannot remotely access, modify, recover, or delete information that exists only on the user’s device or in a third-party service that the Developer does not control.

13. User Choices and Withdrawal of Consent

Users may be able to change or withdraw permissions relating to notifications, tracking, advertising identifiers, personalized advertising, photos, files, or other device functions through their device or operating system settings.

Locally stored App data may generally be deleted from within the relevant App, through device settings, or by uninstalling the App.

Backup or exported files must be deleted by the user from the file management application, cloud storage service, or other location in which they are stored.

Information held independently by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Google AdMob, Google Forms, or another third-party service is subject to the applicable provider’s procedures and policies.

14. Data Security

The Developer implements reasonable organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of information directly handled by the Developer.

Information processed by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Google AdMob, Google Forms, operating system providers, device manufacturers, cloud storage providers, or other third-party services is protected and managed in accordance with the applicable provider’s security practices.

No method of electronic storage, device storage, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

15. International Data Processing

Third-party service providers such as Apple, Google, RevenueCat, advertising providers, and cloud service providers may process information using servers, offices, contractors, or service providers located outside the user’s country or region.

Such processing is subject to the applicable provider’s policies and applicable data protection laws.

16. Children

The Apps are intended for general audiences unless expressly stated otherwise in the relevant App or its store listing.

Where an App is specifically designed for children or is subject to laws or platform policies concerning children, the Developer will apply any additional disclosures, restrictions, consent mechanisms, advertising limitations, or data-handling practices required for that App.

17. Changes to This Policy

The Developer may revise this Policy in response to changes in the Apps, third-party services, applicable laws, platform requirements, business operations, or other circumstances.

The revised Policy becomes effective when it is published on the official Zen Series website or otherwise made available through the relevant App.

Where applicable law requires user notification or consent for a change, the Developer will provide such notice or obtain such consent using an appropriate method.
